Baffling Manchester City Transfer Exit Report Emerges

pep guardiola manchester city injury update

James Trafford has only just arrived at Manchester City this summer – but could already be on his way out, according to a new link emerging this afternoon.

The former Burnley goalkeeper arrived at the Etihad only a few short months ago for a fee of around £31million.

That was confirmed to be a record transfer for a goalkeeper in the UK and hinted towards the 22-year-old being Pep Guardiola’s number one this season ahead of Ederson.

Ederson is wanted by Galatasaray and talks have already taken place between both clubs while the Brazilian’s agent has also been sounded out to be part of the negotiations.

Trafford has not started his personal season too well with his outing vs Tottenham Hotspur in City’s 2-0 home defeat in particular coming under fire from supporters and pundits alike.

Besiktas have loan interest in Manchester City star James Trafford

But now there have been emerging reports in Turkey claiming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Besiktas is “close” to landing the England goalie on a season-long loan deal.

Outlet Politikam claims Besiktas have already made their move to sign Trafford from City and that a deal is being considered by the English Premier League giants.

The Black and Whites see Trafford as an ideal signing to be part of their foreign player quota.

If reports are to be believed, Trafford’s agent – part of the Stellar group – jetted out to Turkey to hold conversations with the club and consider the player’s future for this season at least.

The publication writes how the representative spoke directly with Besiktas President Serdal Adalı in a bid to try and sort something for the custodian.

Trafford earned the interest initially from City after he played 73 times in all competitions for Burnley, keeping 31 clean sheets in that time and conceding 78 strikes.

Why City could sanction loan for record-breaking goalkeeper

His stats at Bolton Wanderers were similar with 74 games to his name and 33 clean sheets. He let in less goals, too, with 58 going past him in that time.

Alleged interest from Turkey in Trafford comes as City get set to welcome Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian stopper, 26, has reportedly already agreed personal terms with City after Pep made it clear he wanted to sign the player.

His price was seemingly slashed to force an exit amid a fallout with PSG with the player left out of his side’s UEFA Super Cup Final squad against Spurs earlier in pre-season.

His supposed arrival in Manchester could prevent Trafford from playing regularly. And if it’s true that City want to keep Ederson, the Englishman may well be chasing a loan move.
