After 9 wins in a row, Palmeiras lost last Tuesday to LDU in the first game of group stage of Libertadores da América:
[youtube:http://youtube.com/watch?v=afnvc7oycos]Playing at 2800 meters over sea level, Palmeiras didn’t played a good game. The team acctually found a good way to play in both halves, but couldn’t keep it for th entire game. The Ecuatorian team marked in Palmeiras’ defensive field, with caused trouble to the brazilian team to build-up plays, especcialy in the last 25 minutes of the agme, after the third goal. The personal mistakes (Marcos and Edmilson in the second goal, Marquinhos, in the third goal) were fatal.
Luxemburgo’s substitutes wasn’t good: Marquinhos didn’t played a good game, and Lenny and Evandro almost didn’t touch the ball. By changing the defensive line-up, the team had problems to build-up plays in his defensive side, unable to give a clean ball to the attackers.
By the ecuatorian side, the playmaker Daniel Manso played a great game. Palmeiras gave him space and he decided the game.
Palmeiras is in the hardest group of the competition, with LDU, Sport (BRA) and Colo-Colo (CHI). There’s no reason to worry, but if the team wants to be the first in the gropu, will have to win at least 4 of 5 games now.
Marquinhos failed
The first substitute to get in the pitch yesterday was Marquinhos, and he had and awful game. Lost every tackle and drible (one originated the third goal of LDU) and tried some long-ranged non-successfully shots.
Bought from Vitoria, Marquinhos was one of the last seasons revelations. The nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder had a surgery in january and lost pre-season. He played three times already and didn’t make good games.

Everybody hopes that he starts to play the same football showed in Vitoria, which would guarantee him a place in the first 11.
