Manchester United v’s Aston Villa

Villa go into this evening’s fixture on the back of two straight league losses, whilst the home side will be riding high after last weeks stroll against Liverpool.

Villa are without the injured Craig Gardner, so Juventus bound Olof Mellberg will deputise at right back.

United’s only fresh injury is Darren Fletcher who is out for the season. Expect United to field a full strength side despite facing AS Roma later in the week.

Villa haven’t won at Old Trafford since 1983 and I can’t envisage that changing this evening. Villa were poor last week and struggled to break down Sunderland, getting past messrs Ferdinand and Vidic might be a great deal harder.

The only plus for Villa is that they have gone to Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea this season scoring 7 goals in the process and remaining unbeaten.

I expect United to be too strong today though.
