Oeste 1×1 Palmeiras; Palmeiras fails to achieve antecipated 1st place

Last night Palmeiras tied with Oeste de Itápolis 1-1:

That wasn’t a good game. Palmeiras created chances but failed to finish it well, and after conceding the goal, had only strength to draw the game. On the other had, the defeat was not bad to the rest of the season: Palmeiras’ team lacks vibration, the team needs to be “awaken” and play with more determination in the next matches.

If Palmeiras had won, the first place and the advantages in the playoffs would be guaranteed. Palmeiras still have five points of difference to São Paulo (which will play today), and one more game to do, but Luxemburgo wanted to guarantee the first place last night to enter with reserves against Bragantino and rest the first 11 to the game on Wednesday, against Sport, for Libertadores da America, the first decisive game of the year.

I still thinks that Luxemburgo will uses the reserves on sunday, but with some first team players, as Keirrison, Cleiton Xavier, Diego Souza and Pierre in the bench. If things get bad, he will put then in the game.

If São Paulo ties today, Palmeires will guarantee the first place aswell.
