Ewood Know The Destiny Of The Title…

After the 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge five weeks ago the Premier League title looked beyond Arsenal but suddenly all that has changed.

With just nine matches to go The Gunners suddenly find themselves in a great position after putting together a run of four straight Premier League wins to leave them just two points off the lead and with an easier looking run in. In fact some bookmakers are now making Wenger’s men favourites to land their first title in six years and who would have thought that after the defeat at Chelsea?

Didier Drogba scores his second in the 2-0 win over Arsenal last month that looked to have ended The Gunners challenge

Looking at the remaining games for all three contenders you have to say that the title does look to be in Arsenal’s hands.

Leaders Manchester United face potentially point-dropping matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Spurs while second placed Chelsea still have to play Aston Villa, Spurs and Liverpool on top of their clash with United.

Meanwhile The Gunners travel to Spurs and face Manchester City at home but other then that they appear to have a far easier run of games against the likes of Hull, West Ham, Wolves and Wigan.

However the team that could decide the destiny of the title is actually Blackburn Rovers who still have to play all three contenders at Ewood Park.

Despite their lowly position Rovers have one of the best home records in the league this season and none of the top three will relish their trip there.

Chelsea are the first to face the Ewood challenge on March 21st while United visit on April 11th and then Arsenal on May 1st. It may well be that whoever comes away from Blackburn with all three points will end up as Champions but whatever happens it certainly looks like being a thrilling climax to the season.
