The Hammers’s 2 young Superstars

On Saturday West Ham and Gianfranco Zola had two academy graduates to thank for a superb victory against Sunderland. The injury hit West Ham side produced a confident display and this was due to some great performances from Junior Stanislas and James Tomkins. Both Stanislas and Tomkins scored on Saturday which enables them to join the elite academy graduates who have scored for the West Ham United first team. Here are their profiles.

Name: Jack Collison

Age: 20

Nationality: Welsh

Jack Collison scored his first goal in a West Ham shirt against Everton on the 8th of November and he has continued to impress throughout the current season for the Hammers. His goals have contributed to team wins but his overall skill and determination help him to be an integral player in West Hams’ success this season so far. At the minute an injury is keeping him from playing which hopefully will not damage West Hams’ chances of qualifying for the Europa Cup next season. Jack Collison has been an inspirational performer and has certainly impressed me this season and I for one hope that his road to recovery is a swift one!

Name: Mark Noble

Age: 21

Nationality: English

Mark Noble has proven himself to be a potential West Ham legend. His assured performances have helped to achieve great things for the Hammers. Although still very young, Mark Noble is already one of the veterans of this current West Ham team as far as experience in the Premier League is concerned. Himself, Robert Green, Lucas Neill and Matthew Upson have been important players for the last few seasons and now Carlton Cole is also coming into the fold. Mark Noble scored his first goal in a Hammers shirt back in January 2007 and his emphatic performance was capped by a man of the match award. Since then he has scored many important goals including lots of pressure penalties, not least against Liverpool at Anfield last season.
