Macheda to join Lazio or Everton? We hope not!

After reading reports in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that Lazio have struck a deal to take Federico Macheda on loan in January with an option to buy the player in the summer of 2011, new rumours have come out suggesting that Everton are prepared to take the young Italian striker on loan. Federico joined the Red Devils from Lazio in September 2007, and he never failed to show his promising potential. One of the highlights of his United career surely is the goal against Aston Villa on the 5th April 2009 when he curled a shot from inside the penalty area in the third minute of injury time to win the match by the score of 3-2. He made his U21 Italy debut against Russia on the 12th August 2009.

Whether Ferguson would do the same mistake as letting Giuseppe Rossi leave the club remains to be seen. However, Macheda was given a chance to impress lately in the Premier League, even starting the match against Sunderland on Saturday. He has scored 3 goals in three seasons, but only played 12 matches. What is certain is that Macheda will be a quality striker in the future, and Manchester United would be committing a huge mistake by letting another club get hold of this talented frontman. As yet, no official confirmation about concrete interest from Lazio or Everton has been reported.
