Rovers 2-2 AS Roma – Brown should stick to playing on pitch

Blackburn put in another solid pre-season performance against AS Roma, where it, again was just a case of getting players some match time.

Blackburn vs AS Roma Line-up

In the first half Rovers lined up: Brown, Jacobsen, Samba, Givet, Warnock, Grella, Nzonzi, Andrews, Gallagher, Roberts, Diouf. Whilst the second half saw most players replaced to become: Brown, Jacobsen, Khizanishvili, Nelsen, Warnock (sub Olsson 49 mins), Dunn, Doran, Judge, Treacy, McCarthy, Diouf (sub Pedersen 60 mins). Two further substitutions saw Olsson replace Warnock in the 49th minute and Pedersen replace Diouf in the 60th.

The numerous personnel changes for the second half, paid dividends for Rovers who had gone in at half time, two goals down, Roma taking plenty of regular first teamers off before Blackburn scored will have also helped, but it was a decent performance by all, Brown in goal excepted.

After being given a chance to play attacking midfielder two nights previously Brown was in his more familiar surrounding between the post for this game, but will be disappointed to have not done better for Roma’s first goal scored by Rodrigo Taddei and in marshalling his wall to stop Riise’s freekick.

Blackburn’s first goal came after good work from Jason Roberts on the right side of the penalty box who picked out Paul Gallagher to calmly slot home. The Blackburn equaliser came in the 52nd miniute when Keith Treacy sent the ball over from the right wing, picking out Diouf who knocked it down for Aaron Doran to score his first senior goal, with a sweet strike.

Some pointless penalties finished off the game, they were sudden death instead of five each, so after Judge missed, Roma won, I’m pretty sure nobody cared about them though. If you really want to watch them you can here though:
