Leon Clarke grabbed a brace at Gigg Lane
Sheffield Wednesday continued their winning ways this week with a convincing 4-1 win against MK Dons. This was then followed by a comfortable 2-0 victory at Gigg Lane on Saturday.
MK Dons were more of footballing side on Tuesday night and the Owls by-passed the Midlands outfit at stadiumMK with Burton and young left-winger Etienne Esaisas amongst the scorers.
Bury on Saturday were a team of more direct football, which it would seem Law’s men are also prepared for as they cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win. Both goals coming from Leon Clarke.
Speaking after the Owls victory on Saturday, manager Brian Laws was particular pleased with his sides fitness levels:
“We showed today that our fitness is at an excellent level.
“What the lower league sides sometimes lack in craft and guile, they certainly make up for in fitness and we were more than a match for Bury in that department, as we were for MK Dons.”
